Wow weber ceramic blue dog ie 4.
Weber blue dog ceramic sensitivity.
I m with you on the weber blue dog ceramic it s a great speaker.
Cranked 1975 fender deluxe reverb with weber blue dog speaker.
Try pairing this with a silver bell in a 2 12 combination.
But something was missing.
The blue dogs are chimey on the bright side of things and don t really sound soft in any way.
In my new amp a 1967 traynor ygm 1 guitarmate i tried.
I have a 10a150h weber in my super champ x 2 and it sounds both great and magical.
Also available with weber s hemp cone which is a smoother darker tone with less attack great for taming treble.
Prior to the silver bell i used a celestion g12h30 warehouse reaper alnico blue and weber ceramic blue dog.
Can you mix lets say a alnico blue with a ceramic silver.
The silver bell has less coloration tighter and more pronounced bass and really sweet breakup.
All of these are great speakers.
When i ran a 50 watt head tube rectified traynor bassmaster i also had a 2x12 cab loaded with a weber blue alnico and ceramic speaker.
15 50oz ceramic magnet 50 watts 1 3 4 voice coil ribbed cone.
The bitey mojo of the ceramic blue dog fits the smoothness of the ie 4 like a glove.
4 75 no cover 5 375 with cover cutout size.
The rig was too much amp so i switched to a 1x12 combo but could never quite get the sound i wanted.
Great low end from the silver bell while retaining clarity and definition from the blue dog.
Alnico blue may sound soft when driven very hard but they re still very sensitive loud speakers even at their 15w rating so to make them sound soft you have to be playing very loud.
Bright clear big natural low end lots of chime and ring detail that doesn t get hard or harsh at high volumes more headroom than the alnico version.
Or a pair of each in a 4 12.
Paper reproduces but hemp fibers sing.
It seems to have scooped mids to my ear compared to the other speakers.
Or would speaker sensitivity differences make on louder than the other.
Classic vox blue tone with ceramic punch and big low end.
Got the 100 watt speaker and the clarity and warmth cannot be touched without a weber hemp speaker.
